Journee is excited to announce the launch of Maison Explicit, our latest immersive commerce experience created in collaboration with NARS to celebrate the iconic brand’s 30th anniversary and the debut of their new Explicit lipstick. This groundbreaking virtual experience further cements Journee’s position as a leader in immersive commerce, combining rich storytelling, gamification, and commerce in an unprecedented immersive digital format.

Maison Explicit was conceived as an integral extension of NARS’ Explicit launch campaign, featuring Global Brand Ambassadors Ciara, Camila Morrone, and Pom Klementieff. The virtual experience invites visitors to explore the sultry streets of downtown New York City and journey into the heart of Maison Explicit—a lavishly decorated urban chateau and the ultimate NARS afterparty.

Leveraging Journee’s advanced cloud-based technology, Maison Explicit is streamed seamlessly on JourneeX, allowing NARS fans to transition effortlessly from any web browser or social media platform into a richly imagined virtual world. Set within the noir-like reimagination of New York, the user journey centers around three beautifully crafted virtual spaces, each inspired by the life and character traits of one of the Explicit Global Brand Ambassadors. Visitors can interact with a series of storytelling elements, from an immersive audio guide delivered via strategically placed Dirty Talk Phones to interactive dance floors and oversized dining spaces, before arriving at a stunning rooftop finale with views across the city and an exclusive screening of behind-the-scenes footage from the Explicit Lipstick campaign.

Building in Unreal Engine, an industry-leading gaming engine, enabled us to build a more 'metaversal' next-generation experience that included dynamic gamification and stunning high-fidelity photorealistic 3D graphics.”

In addition to exploring these immersive environments, visitors can also visit the virtual NARS boutique, where they can explore the full range of Explicit lipstick shades as high-definition 3D models. NARS’ AR technology enables users to try on these shades virtually, bringing the in-store experience directly to their devices.

With Maison Explicit, NARS and Journee have once again pushed the boundaries of what’s possible in digital brand experiences, creating a space where consumers can truly immerse themselves in the essence of NARS. This experience, available in 12 markets in 10 languages, ensures that NARS fans worldwide can engage with Maison Explicit without any additional downloads, account setup, or hardware requirements. Visitors further immerse themselves by choosing between custom avatars inspired by Explicit Lipstick shades Provocateur and Bare It All.

Launching first in the US and Canada on September 3, 2024, Maison Explicit will have rolling launches in Europe and Asia starting mid-September. The experience will also feature prominently at the Global Explicit event in Paris, open to the public on September 14th and 15th, offering attendees a chance to engage with the virtual Maison Explicit before experiencing it in person.
